Eerkes Architects have designed a profound home within the Makani Kai neighborhood of Kukuiula which balances expansive ocean and mountain views with moments of serene seclusion, to create a collection of spaces tailored to fit the moment.  Eight foot tall lava walls define a threshold between the auto court and cloistered garden and lawn.  The glass-walled Main Wing bridges between contemplative garden and social lanai, swimming pool, and outdoor covered dining room.  To access sunsets to the west and views of Mount Haupu to the east, an elevated roof deck and family room sits above the west wing of the home.
